History of the BMAC.
The Bellarine Model Aircraft Club Inc. BMAC, was born from within the Geelong Miniature Aircraft Association Inc. GMAA. As the GMAA club grew in membership, and the members were geographically spread across the Geelong region, due to their home locations, it was evident that members were drawn between two flying fields, the original site of GMAA, Dogrocks field, and the new field at Shepherds Road, Mannerim.
It was decided by the GMAA Committee in late 2010, to hold a Special General Meeting to vote on dividing the club into two separate clubs. In December 2010 the Special General Meeting voted in favour of dividing the GMAA.
Hence BMAC was born and ten months later the club has forty active flying members, and is open to new people wishing to join and enjoy the rewarding sport of flying model aircraft.
The City of Greater Geelong is growing rapidly in population and is now fortunate to have two viable Model Aircraft Clubs that can offer this sport to the public.
