Peter’s De Havilland DHC – 4 Caribou was scratch built from plans by Frank Smith.
Construction:-
Flying:
Initial flights demonstrated a long slow ground run.
Half flap on take-off has fixed that and once airborne it flies scale like at around ½ - ¾ throttle.
With some good weather a model to watch!

Construction:-
- Built up wings fin and stab –sheeted
- Fuselage- ply spine with balsa bulk heads. White foam between bulkheads shaped and hollowed out to 8mm-10mm thickness
- Covering:- White glue and brown paper over entire air frame.
- Engine Nacelle’s and cowls shaped with white foam fibre-glassed then foam removed.
- Finish:- Enamel over Acrylic primer.
