Becoming a Member

Fees are due 12 months in advance on joining. There is a half year allowance if you join after 1st January of the calendar year. If you are already are a member of another club, we welcome associate members.

To fly solo in any of the disciplines, Fixed wing, Gliders or Helicopters, you must have your Bronze Wings. If you do not have your Bronze wings, you must have an observer who does have their bronze wings with you at all times when you are flying.

The club is happy to assist you in achieving your Bronze wings. All associate members must be financial with their main club, and be able to produce their MAAA card on request.

The benefits of club membership are that you will be instructed how to safely operate a model aircraft, what type of aircraft will suit your ability and ambitions for the future.  This will definitely save you time and money in your pursuit in this exciting hobby. The membership fees will be an excellent investment saving you both money and avoiding disappointing choices when you setup and you move into the world of model flying.  Also having an Instructor beside you while you learn the skill of flying your new model will significantly reduce the risk of losing your new plane during the learning process.  Like any high skilled hobby you never reach the
pinnacle but it is a lot of fun trying to get there.

If you want to become a member, come out to the club and talk to one of the friendly committee members.  They will guide you through the process of joining the club.

For the safety of us all members are required to follow club rules.  Please check them out here
